With a bit of Begging skill, you can quickly prevail upon the kindness of NPCs to perhaps pick up those few spare coins. Using Begging To use your Begging skill to grovel for coins from an NPC: If successful, you are rewarded with a few coins. Hint: Your Begging skill only affects NPCs. Monsters can’t understand your groveling, and begging from other players will likely earn you few friends. Beware, Begging will not endear you to the general public - if you are at the second "positive" tier or above, Begging will lower your Karma. (See here for the Fame/Karma chart.) So using Begging will lower you from "Kind" to "Fair", but if you're "Fair" or lower, it won't affect you at all.
